fashion forward friday

My go-to shoes for winter are obviously boots, but I am so over this fashion staple. I'm ready for Spring and longing for some cute flats, strappy sandals, dresses, and a pop of color in my daily wardrobe. I live in the Bay Area so Spring is always lagging behind. Come out, sunshine and warm weather!

the sweetest boy

Over the weekend we moved into a new place so you can imagine how hectic and messy it was. The three of us were so pooped that we were lying in bed at 8pm and my son and boyfriend eventually fell asleep 30 minutes later. I thought, "Yay, I get to sleep early tonight for once, too!" I must have jinxed myself because I didn't sleep early at all. In fact, I laid there in bed for 3 hours trying to get myself to sleep.

I tossed.
I turned.

I went to the bathroom several times.

It was going to be one of those nights and I was already dreading the next day.

I woke up around 6am this morning to make breakfast and was not in a good mood since I ended up falling asleep around 1am. After feeding my son his breakfast, I quickly got dressed and went into the kitchen to eat my food when I heard, "Mommy you look so pretty."

Immediately I looked at him and felt so much better. I walked over to him, gave him a big huge hug and said, "You are the sweetest boy ever. You make sure to always tell girls how pretty they are...they will melt in your hands."

My little man just smiled. I love him to pieces.

obsessed much?

The best part of a busy day is finally being able to sit down, relax, and enjoy a good movie. After a few loads of laundry and a little bit of reorganizing/early Spring cleaning, I am sitting on my bed as we speak and watching The Bodyguard.

I found myself having some sort of a love addiction with a few things this week. If you know me, I am obsessed with sweets! Working in the city of San Francisco, there can be many temptations around me when it comes to satisfying my sweet tooth. There is a Specialty's Cafe & Bakery right next to my work and I always heard they had the best cookies. I don't remember who I heard it from, but they were right. Currently on my food obsession list is their black & white cookie. Seriously, melt-in-your-mouth goodness!

Of course, I have a list of fashion obsessions! Right now I am really into adding more skirts and dresses into my wardrobe. I've always been such a jeans kind of girl while my current dresses have only been worn once or twice. And loafers! I never thought I would want to buy a pair, but these shoes have really grown on me. I found these via Pinterest and fell in love!

My favorite show right now is The Walking Dead. I just recently started watching the second season and finally caught up on the first season last weekend. No joke, one of the best shows ever! I anticipate Sunday nights because of this show. I even had a dream {nightmare} about zombies a few weeks ago. Hmm, if I have any more I might have to stop watching it...

my weekend in instagram photos

It was a rainy and relaxing weekend.
Friday night started with a few friends coming over for dinner...
Some of the yummy food on the menu:
Inspired from recipes found on Pinterest.

I woke up Saturday morning to this little precious scene.
Dylan and his nighttime friend "Puppy"

We took the Bart train to downtown SF...
And I couldn't help but be in awe of this beautiful cupcake display.
Some of them even had 49er cupcake toppers...super cute!

Another rainy day on Sunday...
Laundry time!!

Hope you had a great weekend!!

Are you following me on Pinterest yet?

fashion forward friday

I'm a few hours late of posting this, but I just got home from my 4th Annual Secret Santa party with my closest friends. We cooked, we drank, we laughed, the kiddies played...definitely good times! It was also a reminder how old we're getting. We were all ready to go home by 10:30!

Some pretty things...

Now doesn't this make you wanna roller skate again?!

fashion forward friday

Currently loving: All things sparkly.
Now if only I had a fun party to go to so I could get my hands on one of these.
Maybe I should make some big New Year's Eve plans.
In the meantime, I'll just marvel at these beautiful pieces.

fashion forward friday

Who'd ever thought I'd learn some fashion tips while I was in the shower. There I was, putting some Herbal Essence's conditioner in my hand, when I noticed a "Fashion Tip" on the back label. How random.

Tip #1: {conditioner bottle}
Make your fashion loves last long into seasons to come. Try storing handbags on a shelf instead of hanging to help keep the seams from stretching.

Tip #2: {shampoo bottle}
Crumple up newspapers and stuff them in your unused boots to help them keep their shape.

a girl's best friend

The holidays have arrived...and boy, am I feeling it! Not just emotionally.

Physically.

Since the day before Thanksgiving, I've been feeling a little bloated.

Heavy. FULL.

So full that I've been doing absolutely nothing the past two days. Nothing active, whatsoever. I should be running around right now. Running outside. Running on a treadmill. Running anywhere. I can barely fit some of my jeans and even if I forced myself in them, it feels uncomfortable and annoyingly tight.

Just like everyone else, I reflected on everything I was thankful for this year. I could sit here all day and write about the obvious things I'm blessed with in my life.

There is one thing I would love to share, though. Something that I am truly grateful for right now and seriously could not live without. They say diamonds are a girl's best friend...

But I'm not talking about diamonds here. I'm thankful for...my leggings!

I can breathe. I can move. I can chase after my son. Leggings, my friends, are truly a girl's best friend.

and just like that.

My honey was in Vegas over the weekend with his boys.
So it was just me and my little man.
I tend to get a little jealous when he goes out and has a good time...without me.
I know, it's selfish of me.
He deserves to have fun.
He works hard to provide for our little family.
So why be a brat about it?
Well I was.
And during a phone conversation with him while he was on the road to Vegas, I showed my bratty attitude...and annoyance.

I got off the phone with him...
And right away, my son sensed my frustration.

He looked up at me,
And in the sweetest and softest voice ever,
The kind that makes you melt and fall in love with him,
He said, "What's the matter, sweetie?"

And just like that.
I was over it.

fashion forward friday

I've always been a tad bit afraid of adding a pop of color to my outfits. My safe go-to color when it comes to my wardrobe? Black or gray. I've attempted at adding some color before but nothing as bright as the colors in these outfits. My new style goal: MORE COLOR!

My friends and I are having our 4th Annual Secret Santa Party next month and our theme this year - black and/or red attire. The picture above gave me an idea to dress up a pair of red skinny pants with a black blazer and some pretty jewelry.

I recently discovered this new fashion blog that I'm obsessed with. She's got a great sense of style and she has some awesome giveaways, one of which I've won. (Yay!)
