a day out with thomas

It was a Sunday we've been anticipating.
My son is a huge Thomas The Train fan!!
And he had no idea what was coming.
For the past few weeks he's been saying, "I wanna go to the Island of Sodor."
So that day, we told him we were going on an adventure to find the island.
It was a beautiful winter day in Santa Cruz.
Perfect for riding a blue train.
Perfect for meeting Percy.
Perfect for some hot dogs and garlic fries.
Perfect for tattoos, face painting, and ornament decorating.
Perfect for hanging out with Santa.
Perfect for seeing the happy look on our son's face.

Mommy and Daddy were a little starstruck, too.

hello, november...

Happy first of the month!

I'm a little sad to see October go. It's become one of my favorite months of the year. Funny how a child can make you turn into a festive person. I'm definitely going to miss the pumpkin patches, the perfect weather, passing by the Halloween section at Target, houses covered in Halloween decorations, and going on a hunt for the best Halloween costume.

This was the first year that my son was actually aware of what Halloween was all about and he had so much fun. He picked out his own costume and didn't need our help getting his candy while trick-or-treating at the mall. He's grown a love for this fun holiday, especially for the candy. Just like his Mommy! He's growing faster by the day. Another month gone by and now a month and a half till his 3rd birthday! I wish I can just slow down time.

So long October...

lemos farm pumpkin patch

One of my goals for the month of September was to take my son to Lemos Farm in Half Moon Bay. That goal didn't really go as planned, but I'm so glad we waited till this month to go. It was the perfect time with all the Halloween and pumpkin decorations. Pony rides, train rides, bouncy houses, pumpkin patches, haunted houses, petting zoo, and music. It was a Sunday Funday to remember...and you know it's a good time when your son knocks out in the car on the way home and doesn't wake up till the next morning. He was pooped!

what's up with the sad face?

sunday funday

Place: Sacramento, CA
Travel time: 2 hours
Weather: Absolutely perfect!

Now meet Rosalyn and Baby Will.

I love these two! Rosalyn and I have known each other for a long time and have built a wonderful friendship. We've shared the same career goals and dreams, taken the same classes {or attempted to}, poured our crying hearts out to each other, and best of all, laughed countless times till our tummies ached and our eyes were wet with tears. Our sons even share the same birthday month.

Since moving 2 hours away from each other after being used to living in the same city for years, our quality time session was overdue. My son and I visited her and Baby Will in their cute little home in Sacramento.

It was a great day and Dylan and I had so much fun. Best way to end the day: my to-go coffee from Rosalyn to help me on my drive home.

my souvenir for the day, haha!

happy 4th of july!

Happy 4th of July! I love three-day holiday weekends. Three days of fun, food, and family time. They say all good things come in three's...

Three dishes devoured at The Boiling Crab:
1. dungeness crab - non-spicy, the whole sha-bang
2. one pound of shrimp - also non-spicy, the whole sha-bang
3. chicken tenders (for baby boy)

Three awesome deals I found while shopping:
1. black halter top from Forever 21 - $4.50
2. beach bag from H&M - $7
3. blue and white striped tube top from H&M - $5.95

Three flights of escalator riding with my son.

Three little cousins bonding together.

Three general admission tickets to Transformers 3.

Three pieces of yummy BBQ spare ribs and three of my cousin's oreo cupcakes!

As my son would say, "Happy July!" (still working on the "fourth of" part)
