time to play catch up.

It's been such a busy week for me, I feel like I haven't had time for my personal things. This weekend is going to be my catch up time.

Catching up on blogging.
Catching up on my emails.
Catching up on my TV shows.
Maybe catching up on some sleep.
And most importantly, catching up on some quality time with my family.

Sometimes I wish life wasn't so busy so I could make more time for these things. But hey, what can you do. That's life, right?

Here are the winners from my sneakpeeq giveaway!!

keep calm and write a blog

One of my dreams when I was younger was to become a writer. I used to enter Poetry and writing contests. I even wrote a few stories in the 6th grade and some of the best ones were made into a little book and were kept in our school library. In high school, my good friend and I both joined the newspaper staff on our quest to become Journalists. Somewhere along the way, my writing slowly disappeared from my life and I didn't have the same passion for it. For the past few years, I've wanted to start a blog...just as a fun thing and to also get back into writing.

My blog was started in May of last year and I quickly grew a great love for it. It's a fun outlet for me and I really don't know what I'd do if I didn't have it. Maybe I'd go crazy with all my thoughts, who knows. When I started it, I didn't realize the opportunities I could get from it...

Just last month, I was approached to become a regular blogger for ParentSociety.com. I was beyond ecstatic and couldn't believe this opportunity was being given to me. Along with a few other things, this was one of the best ways to end my year...and a great start to a new one!

Check out my first post and feel free to leave a comment!

Also, I will be hosting my very first giveaway on Friday {another thing to be excited about} so don't forget to come back for that! Thank you to all my followers and readers for visiting my blog. I truly feel so blessed to have all of you!

seeking inspiration

I was sitting at home today, thinking of something to blog about. When I was younger, I had this passion for writing. After high school it went away for some reason. To this day, I still don't know why. Maybe I got distracted with other things in life, who knows. Now that I have this blog, I feel like my mind is running a million thoughts and ideas a minute and I can't seem to keep up. I try to write my blog ideas in my nifty little notebook, but can I really write a million ideas in there?

So when I finally take the time to sit down and blog, my mind goes blank. With a million ideas in my head, how do I choose just one? I pick one, but then I decide against it because it doesn't go with how I'm feeling today.  I felt like I was writing a term paper and I just stared at my computer screen for what seemed like forever. Desperate to find some inspiration on something to write about, I decided to turn on the TV.

Ahh, Sex and the City. One of my all-time favorite shows.

Ironically, the episode is about Carrie Bradshaw and her writer's block for her column. Inspring? Yes. Interesting? Yes. Yet, I quickly forgot about my writing problem and continued to watch a few more episodes... :)

One of my favorite quotes from the show:
“Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous.”
